We are seeking a talented and driven Machine Learning Engineer to join an R&D project in the healthcare domain. You will work on developing a computer vision model that automatically identifies prostate cancer risk by analyzing the color of cytology tests. The model will be integrated into a secure platform with a user cabinet for data storage and access.

This is an impactful role in a small, agile team where your contributions will directly support innovation in early cancer diagnostics.

Customer Overview:

Our client is a European research-driven med-tech company founded by a multidisciplinary group of scientists and healthcare professionals. Since 2017, they have been combining expertise in oncology, chemistry, and data science to deliver patient-oriented diagnostic solutions.

Today, they operate as an innovative SME backed by an international network of urology and IVD experts. The team actively collaborates with clinicians and researchers to bring cutting-edge solutions into real-world medical practice.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement ML model for a platform that detects prostate cancer risk based on cytology test colors.
  • Experiment with deep learning architecture, transfer learning, and fine-tuning to improve detection accuracy.
  • Optimize model for deployment on edge and mobile environments.
  • Collaborate with app developers and clinical experts to ensure reliable, interpretable, and secure outputs.
  • Build and manage pipelines for data collection, annotation, and augmentation.
  • Monitor deployed models using telemetry and feedback for continuous improvement.

Skills/Requirements:
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with computer vision and deep learning for classification or detection tasks.
  • Proficiency in Python and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV.
  • Solid understanding of model evaluation and validation in healthcare or safety-critical environments.
